Post Earthquake Monitoring and Evaluation System

The 2005 Earthquake in Pakistan’s North West Frontier Province resulted in a great loss of human life and an estimated $409 million dollar loss to farming systems.  FAO responded to the disaster by providing rehabilitation support to all areas of Pakistan’s impacted agriculture sector.  To ensure programme success, Kimetrica’s monitoring and evaluation (M&E) team developed an integrated, web-based M&E tool for managing Pakistan earthquake rehabilitation projects. The web-service included data-collection instruments and data management and reporting functions. Full training and methodology modules allowed for easy adoption and partner participation.  The system successfully helped FAO manage millions of dollars in post earthquake funding support, helping managers to use monitoring data to make programme adjustments and ensure the biggest impact for the dollars spent.
